COMPLETA: The additional insurance for treatments with non-panel physicians
As per the amendments made to the Health Insurance Act, which became effective on 1 January 2004, practicing physicians in Principality of Liechtenstein are no longer always considered to be contracted physicians for insurance providers.
For you to still be able to enjoy complete cost coverage, however, CONCORDIA has created the supplementary insurance COMPLETA.
Even in future, COMPLETA will be able to guarantee your freedom to chose your doctor and full cost coverage
As per the new legal regulations, as a customer in a medical practice, with which no insurance agreement is in place, you are considered to be the debtor of the medical fees and within the scope of compulsory health insurance coverage, only half of the costs will be covered by your policy.
For the other half of the costs for non-panel physicians, which are not covered by the compulsory health insurance, the supplementary insurance COMPLETA is available. Of course, the compulsory insurance will continue to cover all of the costs for consulting panel physicians within the scope of the tariff. Our list of panel physicians provides you with information on the medical practices under contract with the insurance group.
Transition period until 2008 for medical treatment abroad
If, during the three years before the amendment that was made to the law on 1 January 2004 took effect, you were being treated abroad regulary by a medical physician, you may continue to visit this doctor until 31 December 2008. The compulsory health insurance will continue to compensate your visits to this doctor until that date within range of the physician tariff for Liechtenstein.
